schnitter are scythe-instructors in Vienna / Austria running workshops on cutting with scythes as a part of urban gardening regularly since 2012.
Austrian scythe smiths in 1900
Our initiative is part of the Austrian Scythe Union founded in 2004 by a.o. retired austrian scythe smiths and part of a worldwide scathe network . We run workshops for people of all age groups and nationalities [in English, French, Spanish, Japanese and German].
During the time of the Chelsea Fringe in Vienna: 17 May to 8 June 2014, we run the following events:
16 – 18 Mai 2014, Vienna, Schloss Hetzendorf: Try out a Scythe! Friday 14:00 – 19:00, Saturday 10:00 – 19:00, Sunday 10:00 – 18:00 as part of Salon Jardin. All tools available. Try out is free of charge.
17 Mai 2014, 8:00 – 12:00 Uhr, Vienna: Scythe Workshop, Urban Gardening in Schloss Hetzendorf as part of Salon Jardin. a day-pass for the Salon Jardin is included in the registration fee of 95 € / person.
25. Mai 2014, 9:00 – 18:00 Uhr, Try out a Scythe in DIE GARTEN Tulln: schnitter is participating in the day for biodiversity. Informations about using scythes, tools, try out, free of charge.
7. Juni 2014, 7:00 – 11:00 Uhr, Vienna: Scythe Workshop, Urban Gardening, in Botanical Gardens of Vienna University. Fee per person Person 95 € plus 20 € for the Botanical Garden. All scythes and tools will be available to use.
7. Juni 2014, 14:00 – 18:00 Uhr, Vienna: Peening Workshop – sharpen your scythe, Botancal Garden Vienna Univeristyischer. Fee per person 95 € plus 20 € for the Botanical Garden. All tools available to use.
On top of that we organize scythe workshops and scythe events for you / your group / your family on demand.
